New Site, New Us
A new website launch & a thank you
As web developers, we bang on to customers about keeping things fresh, not letting your website get stagnant and rotting away in a corner. However, it would appear that we don’t listen to our own advice all the time, although we’re not too bad as this new site of ours is within the 2-year mark which we do advise.
So what’s new?
Well, we are still working with WordPress and the Divi Builder on a lot of projects. We have started using a block editor with Gutenberg called Kadence and this is what our new site is built with as a test subject as it were, always better to learn something new on our own project rather than use a customer as a guinea pig! So now we have options and will use the best solution for the project on a case by case basis.
The twofentons team
We’ve always been huge advocates of using sub contractors for parts of our work where we feel we need some extra input and we still have a graphic designer, social media expert, Wordpress plugin builder and more complex web developers available to us, but I’d like to shout a bit about Darren Woodley. Darren has been working with us for nearly 2 years now, initially helping us out of holes we found ourselves in when coding got a little tricky or we couldn’t find the solution to something that was staring us in the face, however, for the past year or so, Darren has become like an honorary thirdfenton and is well and truly involved on a day to day basis now.
We have also migrated the majority of our customer’s websites over to his hosting solution with 20i, and it’s been great having him there to make the transition smooth and to answer my (Katie’s) stupid questions on what can sometimes feel like a daily basis. Many of you will already be aware of Darren and whilst he doesn’t show his face, or even email customers all that much, he is an invaluable part of the team and this is just a public ‘thank you’.
What’s next?
Well as we start to slowly come out of the pandemic, well I say come out of, I don’t think that’s the case, but some form of normality is starting to resume, we are busy busy busy. We’ve got exciting projects in the build stage at the moment and an order book of new customers that I’m pretty sure will take us up to and beyond Christmas – don’t let that stop you getting in touch though, we can jiggle things around project wise and of course we have our sub contractor army at the ready! We’ve also got something in the pipeline that will hopefully see us joining forces in some way with a designer in Inverness, which could open up all sorts of doors to the more local to us market. We’ve got face to face meetings with customers we’ve never met coming up and it will be great to see them in person rather than on a Zoom screen, and we’ve also got meetings with customers we haven’t seen since March 2020, so all in all a great time to launch a new website and take things forwards.
Onwards and upwards, teamfenton!
